Current Situation of Garlic Production in Xuzhou

         The main producing areas of Xuzhou garlic are mainly concentrated in Pizhou city and its surrounding areas. From the perspective of the planting area, from 2015 to 2022, there was a downward trend in 2016. Since 2017, the garlic planting area in Xuzhou increased steadily. By 2019, the garlic planting area in Xuzhou occupied a large part of the planting area in the province. The huge benefits brought by garlic make farmers began to plant more garlic. Garlic areas were no longer limited to the traditional garlic areas in Pizhou. 

     

Pizhou city is the main garlic producing area in Xuzhou, the export of garlic record plantation gradually increased from 300,000 acres to 60 acres. The output has gradually expanded to more than 700,000 tons. In 2016, the total output of Xuzhou was 800,000 tons, accounting for about 66% of the province.                

The oversupply continuously reduced the price of garlic in Xuzhou and surrounding areas and reduced the income, leading to the low enthusiasm of garlic farmers and the reduction of the areas of garlic. In 2017, Xuzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau built a food quality and safety demonstration area, effectively improving the scientific planting level of agricultural products, and the planting area of garlic increased compared with last year. On the basis of mastering the mature experience and advanced technology in garlic planting, the main garlic producing area in Xuzhou has initially realized the standardization of the planting process, and the farmers in the export base must produce in strict accordance with the regulations.

       In the established industrial chain, We develop green agriculture and smart agriculture. We believe there is still a lot of room for garlic production, and many high and new technologies have not been fully applied to production.
